If you’re worried about breathing clean air while tooling around town in your car, you could wear a gas mask. Or you could just hope that your cabin air filter is taking care of all the dust, allergens and other pollutants.
You might not know that over 80% of the new vehicles rolling off of the assembly lines are now equipped with a cabin air filter. But you might not know exactly what it does. Well it actually filters the air that enters your heating and air conditioning system and therefore the air that you are breathing inside your car.
Most vehicle manufacturers recommend changing your cabin air filter every 12 to 15 thousand miles – or about once a year. Check your owner’s manual to see if your vehicle has a cabin air filter. A clean, unclogged filter might be what you need to keep you from sneezing behind the wheel. We would be happy to inspect yours next time you’re in the shop.
Also, watch the above video to find a special offer that will save you a ton of money when getting your cabin air filter replaced. Breathe it in.
